Update from the bear attack on Sunday. Parts of Natural Bridge State Resort Park is shut down call 606-663-2214 & 800-325-1710 for more info. Red River Gorge is open on Hwy#77 to Indian Creek, the trails are pretty much shut down. Call Gladie Center for more info 606-663-8100.

Back in the office after a 3-day work study in Franklin TN. What an amazing trip! Lots of great ideas and exchange of information. We had a City Council Member, a city mayor, and a member from the parks and rec's board to go. We had the largest representation of any other county (out of 47)! But, next year we want even more elected officials and business leaders to go. Look out world, here comes Powell County!
Powell Co Kiwanis/Natural Bridge will be holding the annual 5K beginning at the Skylift next Saturday. The race will begin at 9am. If anyone would like to run or walk give them a call at 606-663-0186
